Product Overview

 Function Definitions

1.   Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

The system checks the distance between the vehicle in front real-time, and it calculates the potential collision time based on relative speeds of two vehicles. Alarm is triggered when the potential collision time is less than the threshold value.

Alarm sound

  • Four continuous treble-tone sounds.

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over 30km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: Increases with the vehicle speed, lowest 2.7 seconds, highest 5.2 seconds

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

Invalidation scenario

  • When the backlight is too strong, the system will be ineffective temporarily.
  • During heavy rain and fog days, the system will be ineffective due to low visibility.

2.   Headway Monitoring and Warning

Based on your vehicle’s speed, the system checks the distance with the vehicle in front real-time, and it estimates the collision time if the front vehicle brakes suddenly. Alarm is triggered when the collision time is less than the threshold value.

Alarm sound

  • An alto-tone sound every 0.5 second.

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Turns on when the vehicle speed is over 30km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: Default setting supports the back-end configuration threshold value. Recommended 0.8 second for small vehicles, 1.2 second for large vehicles.

Detection precision

  • Real value based on the distance detected by radar with average error <10%.

Invalidation scenario

  • When the backlight is too strong, the system will be ineffective temporarily.
  • During heavy rain and fog days, the system will be ineffective due to low visibility.

 3.   Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

The real-time system detects the lanes to the right and left. An alarm is triggered when the system detects an unconscious lane deviation based on right and left turn signals.

Alarm sound

  • A series of continuous short sounds.

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over 55km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: Temporarily cannot adjust the sensitivity

Alarm precision

  • Allowing a 5% miss rate can help achieve an accuracy rate for warnings of higher than 99%

Invalidation scenario

  • When the backlight is too strong, the system will be ineffective temporarily.
  • During heavy rain and fog days, the system will be ineffective due to low visibility.

 4.   Closed-eyes detection

Alarm triggered when the system detects the driver has closed his eyes over the threshold time length.

Alarm sound

  • Voice warning, “Eyes closing too long.”

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: The driver closes his eyes for more than 1.5 second.
  • Cool-down: 10-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

Invalidation scenario

  • Fails to detect in highly-reflective sunglasses; the system works with normal sunglasses.

 5.   Yawning detection

Alarm triggered when the system detects the driver has yawned over the threshold time length.

Alarm sound

  • Voice warning, “Yawning.”

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: The driver yawns for more than 1 second.
  • Cool-down: 10-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

 6.   Distraction detection(yet launched)

When the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr, the system will use driver’s facial features to identify the face orientation when driving normally. Alarm will be triggered when the system detects the driver has a long-term, large-angle deviation from a normal face orientation.

Alarm sound

  • Voice warning, “Keep in focus.”

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Default setting turns on when the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: Referencing on the driver’s normal driving face orientation, the alarm is triggered when the system detects the face deviates more than 30 degrees to the right or left, or 18 degrees up and down, and the deviation is longer than 2 seconds.
  • Cool-down: 10-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

 7.   Smoke detection

Alarm triggered when the system detects the driver’s smoking movements.

Alarm sound

  • Voice warning, “No smoking.”

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Turns on when the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: The driver's smoking movements last for more than 1 second.
  • Cool-down: 30-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

8.   Telephone detection

Alarm triggered when the system detects the driver holds cell phone next to his/her ear while driving.

Alarm sound

  • Voice warning, “No phone call.”

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Turns on when the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: When driver is in telephone call status for more than 2.5 seconds.
  • Cool-down: 20-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

 9.   Drinking water detection

Alarm triggered when the system detects the driver is drinking water. Supports various common drinking water tools such as cups, disposable cups, thermal cups, mineral water bottles, and other drinking containers.

Alarm sound

  • Voice warning, “Water drinking.”

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Turns on when the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: When driver is in drinking water status for more than 1 second.
  • Cool-down: 10-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

10.No-safety-belt detection (yet launched)

Alarm triggers when the system detects the driver without a seat belt.

Alarm sound

  • Voice warning, “Please fasten your seat belt.”

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Turns on the function when the device is activated.
  • Trigger threshold: When the driver is not wearing a seat belt for more than 1 second.
  • Cool-down: 300-second cool-down between the alarm sounds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

11.Abnormal driver camera detection (yet launched)

The system will be triggered when it detects an abnormality in the DMS Camera, for example, abnormal angle, long-term covering, or missing picture.

Alarm sound

  • No audible alarm on the device.

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Turns on when the vehicle speed is over 10km/hr.
  • Trigger threshold: Camera cannot detect any human face for more than 1,800 seconds.
  • Cool-down time: 3,600 seconds.

Alarm precision

  • Accepts above 98% warning accuracy when there is a 5% miss rate.

12.Driver’s identity authentication (yet launched)

After launching driver’s identity authentication, the system will analyze the real-time human face video. It will select human face pictures at the right angles and compare with the local human face database. Successful identification will provide one of the two results: 1. The driver is a designated driver in the identification database; 2. The driver is not in the identification database. If the system cannot find the right angles for face pictures or other reasons, it will return with a recognition failure.

Alarm sound

  • No audible alarm on the device.

Alarm threshold

  • Turn-on threshold: Turns on to monitor every 30 minutes.
  • Trigger threshold: Alarm triggered when a driver is not found in the identification library.

Alarm precision

  • Driver identification database can store information of up to 1,000 people with >99% accuracy rate.
